This interactive skills-based workshop focuses on developing a strong culture for learning, delivering effective feedback and dealing with trainees in difficulty. It includes trigger videos, group discussions and opportunities to practise feedback skills.
This workshop explores supervision in the healthcare setting. The main themes of the workshop include dealing with the many challenges supervisors face, such as: lack of time, pressure from the increasing number of trainees, and balancing service commitments with teaching of trainees and medical students at varying levels. This workshop then focuses on a range of teaching multi-level groups, and strategies to help trainees improve their communication such as questioning techniques and the importance of role modelling.
