Professor Lewis Chan

Concord Repatriation General Hospital and University of Sydney

Lewis Chan is Head of Urology at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, NSW and Conjoint Professor of Surgery at University of Sydney. His subspecialty interests are bladder dysfunction, female urology and urological imaging. The Urology Department at Concord has an active basic sciences and clinical research program in functional urology including  bladder dysfunction with ageing, mesh complications and post prostatectomy incontinence. Dr Chan is the urology investigator for the Concord Health and Ageing in Men (CHAMP) Project, a longitudinal study of health in ageing community dwelling men. He is a member of the Collaborating Hospitals’ Audit of Surgical Mortality (CHASM) steering committee and is involved in clinical governance with particular interest in surgery in the older patient. He is the editor of the textbook ‘Multidisciplinary Care of Urinary Incontinence’ and chaired the Geriatrics Subcommittee of the International Consultation on Urological Management of the Spinal Cord Injured Patient.
