Dr. Peter Fahmy is an interventional and structural cardiologist at Norwest Hospital (Sydney).
Dr. Fahmy was awarded his Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Otago (New Zealand) in 2004. He then completed his cardiology advanced training at MonashHEART (Melbourne) and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2011. Dr. Fahmy was awarded his Doctorate of Philosophy in Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2015 for his research in prevention of sudden cardiac death. Dr. Fahmy spent two years at Vancouver General and St Paul’s Hospitals, Vancouver, Canada where he trained in interventional and structural cardiology, in the world leading institutes in coronary artery and structural heart disease by pioneers in the field.
He has been the lead team member involved in setting up the transcatheter aortic valve replacement program at Norwest Hospital.
He has published and co-authored many manuscripts and presented at multiple international and national conferences.
