Professor Tony Broe AM

Tony is a geriatrician and neurologist. He currently heads the Ageing Research Centre at Neuroscience Research Australia and is Conjoint Professor of Geriatric Medicine at the University of NSW. He is a founding member and Past President of the Australian Geriatrics Society - now the Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM), Past President of the Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG) and of the Australian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment (AASBI). Tony has written some 200 papers and 20 book chapters on healthy ageing, brain ageing, dementia and on health and ageing in Aboriginal Australians. Tony has set up multiple health services in Neuroscience, Geriatric Medicine, Aged Care, Brain Injury and Community Medicine. He has translated his recent research into health policy, services, prevention and capacity building with Aboriginal partner organisations.
