Dr Janani Thillainadesan

Dr. Janani Thillainadesan is a Staff Specialist Geriatrician at Concord Hospital, an early career researcher at the Centre for Education and Research on Ageing (CERA), and a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. Her PhD work culminated in the implementation of a successful geriatric comanagement model for vascular surgery patients, earning the 2021 ANZSGM Career Investigator Prize and 2023 SHP Award for Using Research to Change Health Practice. Janani is now leading a research program focussed on medical education of junior doctors in hospital. She received the 2023 RACP Vincent Fairfax Research Fellowship and recently began her NHMRC Investigator Grant (EL1) Fellowship. She is Co-Chair of her hospital’s Human Research Ethics Committee, Associate Editor for Australasian Journal on Ageing and Age and Ageing, and lead of the Hoc Mai Geriatric Medicine education and research collaboration with the National Geriatric Hospital in Vietnam.
