Prof Richard Lindley
Richard Lindley is a geriatrician and stroke physician and Professor of Geriatric Medicine at Sydney Medical School (Westmead Clinical School), University of Sydney. He continues in hospital clinical practice at Blacktown Hospital in Sydney and his main research activity is now running an NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Stroke Trial Innovation and Translation.
Professor Lindley has co-chaired the Australian Stroke Coalition, and is a past President of the Stroke Society of Australasia. He has previously co-chaired the Stroke Topic Working Group for the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care and the development of national stroke guidelines (in Australia and Scotland). He’s an Honorary Overseas Member of the Association of British Neurologists and was previously on the Board Member of the National Stroke Foundation and Chair of its Clinical Council for nine years (2006-2015). He is currently the Deputy Head of School for Sydney Medical School and continues as a Principal Investigator at the Westmead Applied Research Centre (WARC).
